NAHC — find home health and hospice agencies and learn patient rights. Useful when you need help with bathing, dressing, meals, medication reminders, or companionship — but not a nursing home. Most agencies will do a free in-home assessment to set hours, scope, and a care plan before any commitment. Medicare does NOT cover long-term in-home help — only short post-hospital home health. Medicaid waivers can fill the gap for income-eligible seniors. No cost to older adults or the people helping them.
