Non-emergency medical transportation for Iowa Medicaid recipients via state Medicaid. A first stop for veterans, dialysis patients, and seniors with disabilities who qualify for paratransit. Most paratransit programs require an application, doctor's note, and a few weeks of advance scheduling for regular rides. Volunteer driver programs are often run by faith-based organizations and are open to seniors of any background. All services free of charge to qualifying seniors and family caregivers.
